Things that would help the farm

1) YOU- we always look for volunteers who want to come out and lend a hand whether it is cleaning paddocks, moving hay, handling chickens, helping harvest veggies etc. You and your loved ones would be spending time on the fresh air, working on projects that make a profound difference, plus you’d be around some pretty amazing animals.

2) Lumber- we go through a fair amount of lumber each year as the winter season and large livestock are not kind to fences. Home Depot and Menards gift cards would be a blessing

3) Cat food and litter. Our barn is home to 16 cats. They are all from shelters and fixed. Many of these cats were on death row, meaning they were unadoptable to most homes and the farm was their last resort. They get a chance to live out their lives with us and they return the kindness by being the sweetest cats you’ll ever meet. Many of our visitors can attest to that. They love Purina One Catfood (Salmon or chicken), wet food and cat litter

4) Any Family Farm and Home/ Tractor supply gift cards to help cover grain cost

About the Farm

Farrview Acres Clydesdales was founded in 2007 by Tom and Jennifer Luttrull. Our goal was to breed easy-to-handle, well-proportioned horses that would be suited to work in the mounted police, just as they would be to become your treasured family member. Over the years we added several types of poultry to our program, ranging from quail to chickens, peafowl, ducks, geese and turkeys. This allows us to produce farm fresh poultry and eggs, raised right here in Norton Shores. We also use the manure produced on the farm for our organic gardening programs. After my husband’s stroke in 2019, much of the work around the farm fell onto just me and juggling a full-time job and full-time farm has been challenging. Many friends have stepped forward over the years to help bring in hay, weed the gardens or lend a hand with necessary supplies and we have managed to keep things going since that dreadful year. Now, due to increasing energy and consumer good prices, we once again face the task of recovering from a long and cold winter with Consumer Energy bills soaring to $600.00+ and hay prices once again rising for the 5th year in a row, all while many prices of the products we produce remain the same. It is our hope to keep this farm going as long as possible to continue to produce high quality and nutrient dense foods while also offering services such as riding and groundwork lessons to people who otherwise wouldn’t have access to horses and the incredible joy and healing power they offer. That said, I was asked to put together a list of things that would help make a tremendous difference for us. So here it goes. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for even considering to help. Keeping food production local and changing the lives of people with our horses is something we are incredibly passionate about and we would love to share the farm with you!
